Biographical note

Suresh Sundaramurthy is a faculty member and former head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MA-NIT) Bhopal, in India. He is a recipient of the IUSSTF Post-Doctoral Fellowship awarded by the government of India. He has supervised nine PhD students, 55 MTech students, and 150 BTech/project students. He has published more than 100 research publications in the following areas: new sorbents and catalysts, reactor design, environmental biotechnology, waste-to-energy, decarbonization, energy transition, nanoengineered materials, technical textiles, gas separation, sensing of toxic gases, process safety, and hazard and disaster management. He has also published two Indian patents and is involved in the development of three international book series and has published more than 22 book chapters and six edited books and proceedings. Dr. Sakthivel Sundaresan is a Senior Technologist in the Technology Group of Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd., based in Mumbai, India. His areas of focus include green chemicals, green ammonia, green fuels, the energy transition, and decarbonization, with responsibility for the evaluation of emerging technologies and commercialization. Dr. Sakthivel has experience in process engineering, technology analysis, screening and selection, techno-economic analysis, pilot setups, process hazard analysis, basic, applied and market research, and powder and science technology. He holds a PhD and has published several articles in national and peer-reviewed international journals. Prof. Sarat Kumar Swain is a Professor of Chemistry at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, Sambalpur, India, since 2011. Before joining VSSUT, he worked at North Odisha University (now renamed as Sriram Chandra Bhaanja Deo University), as Associate Professor, and was formerly Dean (Academic Affairs), Dean (PG Studies & Research), and Head of the Department of Chemistry at VSSUT. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Polymer Engineering, University of Akron, Akron, OH, USA after receiving his Doctoral degree from Utkal University, and also worked as a visiting researcher at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced and Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru. Prof. Swain has more than 25 years of experience in teaching and research, and his interests include hybrid nanomaterials, advanced materials, and applications in environmental remediation and decarbonization. He has published over 120 research papers in SCI indexed international journals of repute, authored or edited 5 books and 35 book chapters, and published two patents (one in the USA and one in India).
