Biographical note

Sean Murphy, FACHE, CPHIMS, CISSP-ISSMP, is currently a Vice President at Leidos Health and serves as the organization’s HIPAA/Health Information Security Officer. He is a healthcare information security expert with almost 20 years of experience serving at all levels of healthcare. Prior to joining Leidos Health, Mr. Murphy was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Medical Service Corps. From 2008-2009 he served as Senior Mentor to the Afghan National Police Surgeon General’s Office in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He has a Master's degree in Business Administration (advanced IT concentration) from the University of South Florida, a Master's degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland. He is an adjunct professor at Saint Leo University, a fellow at the American College of Healthcare Executives, and board-certified by the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society.
