Biographical note
Abbie Rushton has a degree in English Literature with Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia. She has worked in book publishing for over 10 years – both as an editor and author – and has written over 40 early reading books. She lives near the Norfolk coast with her son and a lazy dog called Nia! I am Spanish, I live in Madrid and I have been working as an illustrator for more than 30 years. I combined my artistic studies with my other profession which is teaching for eleven years. I have done different courses in early childhood education and art education. I have worked mainly for Spanish publishers on textbooks and children's education and reading. I joined Beehive in 2016.Big Cat Phonics for Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised has been developed in collaboration with Wandle Learning Trust and Little Sutton Primary School. It comprises classroom resources to support the SSP programme and a range of phonic readers. The 7+ books are designed for children aged 7+ who need more practice to acquire phonics skills.
