Biographical note

Katie Woolley is a creative and versatile editor and writer who has worked on children's books for all age levels, from board books, novelty books and picture books to non fiction, licensed publishing and educational books and apps. Katie has more than 10 years' publishing experience; she has written, commissioned, edited and project managed a variety of titles for some of the biggest children's publishers, such as Ladybird Books and Hachette Children's Books. A water baby from Brighton, Jake has been honing his skills since his first detention for doodling in the margins. He graduated from Brighton University in illustration and now specialises in digital illustration for kids. His work can be found across the globe, on the shelves of shops in Asia, Europe, and the USA. Taking a playful approach to illustration, Jake is inspired by all things storytelling, from board games to Studio Ghibli. He credits a childhood meeting with Chris Riddell - a memento of which is proudly displayed on his studio wall - for showing him the potential for the career that he loves. Glance through his portfolio and you'll find a plethora of unicorns, monsters, and mermaids, as well as educational illustrations of everything from dinosaurs to rocket ships.
