'This is a very special picture book for all ages. It's an exciting read-alone and a read-together adventure. Like in dreams, the images are alive and full of details - each movement and breath and flutter frozen for us to notice. The brothers, together and central to each scene, are completely part of the action or stillness or magic around them, and we are with them all the way - on the last pages, holding our breath. An incredible story created through simple dialogue, brilliant illustrations and our own imaginations.' ANN JAMES

'Judy Watson's gorgeous illustrations combine beautifully with Sofie Laguna's evocative language to take readers on a rich journey into the imagination of a small boy. Her artwork is filled with textures and quirks. Vibrant colours, stunning patterns and hidden details to uncover - these pages are just so, so beautiful. I found myself turning pages very slowly with this book, savouring the colours and movement on each spread.' Kids' Book Review

'Multiple techniques combine hand-drawn lines, spongelike prints, patterns, streaks, and splashes to evoke luminous worlds. The sleeping sibling can't know how fortunate he is, but lucky readers can easily project themselves into these scenes.Thrilling journeys abound in this lovely ode to childhood fantasies and sibling bonds.' Kirkus Reviews

'Brilliant colors and dreamlike illustrations complement this touching tale of brotherly love. Anolder brother watches his younger brother sleeping in his crib, imagining all the adventures theywill go on when he's older. Delicate lines of flowers and blades of grass pair with widebrushstrokes of imposing icebergs and frothy waves as the boy imagines future adventures...' Foreword (Starred Review)
