I had promised Ma Evangeline I would never gamble, but we were not playing poker for money. We were playing for Mr. Jason Francis Montgomery. My name is P.K. Pinkerton, Private Eye. This is an account of how taking a Case in Carson City got me quicksanded, buzz-sawed & blizzarded. And also blasted at by a pistol-packing widow. Praise for The Case of the Deadly Desperados . . . 'Scalpings, six shooters, saloons and stage coaches. Clear your calendar because you'll want to read this in a single sitting!'
