Biographical note

Julia Donaldson MBE is perhaps the UK’s best-known writer for the very young. She is a keen singer and songwriter and her astonishing gift for rhyme ensures the status of The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and many other joyful titles as modern classics. Julia was the seventh UK Children’s Laureate and when she’s not touring the country promoting a love of rhyme and reading, she divides her time between Sussex and Scotland.

When Hannah Shaw was little she wanted to be good at everything. Luckily for children all over the world, she made up her mind to become an illustrator! Sometimes Hannah illustrates other people’s books, and sometimes she writes her own, like Erroll and Stan Stinky. She lives near Stroud with her family and a rescue dog called Ren.
