Indie bookseller Clapham's debut is a warm hug of a book about a little girl determined to save her local bookshop.

The Bookseller

Clapham, who has run the much-loved, independent bookshop, Storytellers Inc, for almost a decade, has drawn on her own experiences to create this charming new adventure about the power of books and the importance of local bookshops and booksellers who work with passion to share their love of stories.

- Pam Norfolk,

a heart-warming celebration of the power of stories.

Sunday Express

I think this book would make a great read aloud to younger kids, is probably aimed at around 5-9 year olds who might not be ready for chapter books yet, but can be enjoyed by anyone who loves books and bookshops really.

Book Faith

This is a wonderful book for children who love reading; it may also encourage those who are not so sure. It has a gentle, heart-warming feel and a strong message about everyone being able to make a difference.

Books for Keeps

A heartwarming story about the role of independent bookshops. The illustrations show the contrast between the warmth and colour of a bookshop and the dull cold of other shops. Although bookselling is a retail job ... it just isn't. Because while shifting books is important, the conversations between bookseller and customer mean so much more.

- Louise Nettleton, Book Murmuration

It's easy to find highly illustrated books for children moving on from picture books, but finding colour illustrations with similar appeal to picture books is much more challenging. With its focus on the importance of stories, this is a lovely theme for the latest book in the series.

Parents in Touch

[Katie Clapham's] obvious love of books and bookshops shines through in this absolutely delightful story, illustrated by the very talented Kirsti Beautyman, about love, family, books and community. Absolutely delightful.
