Forfatter

Biographical note

Michael Zand is a poet, translator and editor. He was born in Iran but has spent most of his life in and around London. His collections include Kval (Arthur Shilling, 2009) and Lion (Shearsman Books, 2010). He was included in the Best Poetry of 2011 anthology (Salt, 2011) and won the Roehampton Poetry Performance Prize in 2008. Michael has participated in various collaborations with musicians and sound artists and read a wide range of poetry events across the UK. Other projects include the blogsite Lexico and an ongoing international translation project called Proetics. He is a Visiting Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Roehampton in London, where he is also working on a contemporary translation of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam entitled The Ruby Murray of Omer Kayyam.
