Biographical note

Dr. Venkatesan, J, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D. is working as a research professor at Hanyang University ERICA, Seoul, South Korea, and as an assistant professor at Yenepoya Research Centre (YRC), Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangalore, Karnataka. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Bioengineering at Incheon National University, Incheon, South Korea. In addition, he worked as a research professor at the Department of Chemistry and Marine Bioprocess Research Center (MBPRC) at Pukyong National University, South Korea. He received his master of science in chemistry from Thiruvalluvar University in 2005. Further, he received his Ph.D. from Pukyong National University in 2011. His primary research interests are investigating and developing materials from marine sources for biomedical applications. Furthermore, his research includes investigating natural biomaterials for tissue engineering and drug delivery applications. He has published more than 160 research papers with an h-index of 44 and holds four patents.
