Biographical note
Soney C. George, PhD, is Dean of Research and Director of the Amal Jyothi Centre for Nanoscience and Technology, Kerala, India. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, and a recipient of a best researcher of the year award in 2018 from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram, India. He has also received awards such as a best faculty award from the Indian Society for Technical Education, best citation award from the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, a fast-track award of young scientists by the Department of Science & Technology, India, and an Indian young scientist award instituted by the Indian Science Congress Association. He did his postdoctoral studies at the University of Blaise Pascal, France, and Inha University, South Korea. He has published and presented almost 200 publications in journals and at conferences. His major research fields are polymer nanocomposites, polymer membranes, polymer tribology, pervaporation, and supercapcitors. He has guided eight PhD scholars and 95 student projects.
Jacob Philip, PhD, is the Dean (Academic) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally, Kottayam, Kerala, India, and a former Professor in the Department of Instrumentation at Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. His research has been on diverse areas of condensed matter physics, focused to elastic, thermal, piezoelectric, and optical properties of multifunctional materials. His contributions include techniques to study thermal and elastic properties of solids, such as photoacoustic and photothermal techniques, physical ultrasonics, laser-induced surface acoustic waves, sensors, etc. He was a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Heidelberg and a visiting scientist at several institutions in India and abroad. He has authored over 200 journal publications, two books, one edited volume, and more than 100 papers in conference proceedings. He has delivered invited lectures and presented papers at several international and national conferences. He has successfully guided 27 researchers to secure their doctoral degrees. He is a fellow/member of a number of science societies, including the Institute of Physics (UK). Dr. Philip received MSc and PhD degrees in Physics from the University of Kerala and had postdoctoral training at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA.
Ann Rose Abraham, PhD, is currently Assistant Professor of Physics at Sacred Heart College, Thevara, Cochin, India. She is the author of ten book chapters and editor of two books. She has a number of publications to her credit in many peer-reviewed high impact journals of international repute, such as the Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, New Journal of Chemistry, Philosophical Magazine, etc. She has research experience at various national institutes, including Bose Institute; SAHA Institute of Nuclear Physics; UGC-DAE CSR Centre, Kolkata; and has collaborated with various international laboratories, such as the University of Johannesburg, South Africa; Institute of Physics Belgrade; etc. She is the recipient of young researcher award in the area of physics, a prestigious forum to showcase intellectual capability. Dr. Abraham received her MSc, MPhil, and PhD degrees in Physics from the School of Pure and Applied Physics, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India. She has expertise in the field of materials science, nanomagnetic materials, multiferroics, and polymeric nanocomposites, etc.
A. K. Haghi, PhD, is the author and editor of over 200 books, as well as over 1000 published papers in various journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Haghi has received several grants, consulted for a number of major corporations, and is a frequent speaker to national and international audiences. Since 1983, he served as professor at several universities. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Chemoinformatics and Chemical Engineering and Polymers Research Journal and is on the editorial boards of many international journals. He is also a member of the Canadian Research and Development Center of Sciences and Cultures. He holds a BSc in urban and environmental engineering from the University of North Carolina (USA), an MSc in mechanical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University (USA), a DEA in applied mechanics, acoustics and materials from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (France), and a PhD in engineering sciences from Université de Franche-Comté (France).
