“At the intersection of creativity, innovation and culture lies a sweet spot that offers insights into humankind's past and future. Spanning multiple dimensions of culture including societal, organizational and digital facets, this edited book covers a wide-range of domains, including art, theater, engineering, commercial products and services. To "think out of the box", it is essential to think about the cultural boxes in which we live.” (Todd Lubart, Professor of Psychology, Université Paris Cité, President of the International Society for the Study of Creativity and Innovation (ISSCI))“The complex nature of creativity and innovation, and the intimate relationships they hold with culture broadly defined is skilfully exposed in this very insightful and readable collection of chapters. Each contributor presents their contextualised perspective on these issues, nuanced by important social and cultural concepts and scientific learnings that continue to evolveand change over time. This book provides a timely reminder of what creativity means for us as a species and in our complex roles as both local and global citizens.” (Damian P Birney, School of Psychology, University of Sydney, Australia)
