Biographical note
Namita Agrawal is currently a Professor at the Department of Zoology, University of Delhi, India. Prof. Agrawal has been addressing numerous questions related to debilitating neurodegenerative diseases for past 25 years. She started working on neurodegenerative diseases at the Department of Development and Cell Biology, University of California, Irvine, USA. Her research group at University of Delhi is trying to comprehend the mechanistic basis of neurodegenerative diseases and its cure by using phytochemicals. Additionally, her research interests also include understanding of various aspects involved in Cancer and nanomaterials.Prof. Agrawal has published research papers in peer-reviewed journals like Science, PNAS, Journal of Cell Biology, Development, Developmental Biology, Nature Scientific Reports, PLOS One, J. of Huntington’s disease etc. She has recently edited and wrote several chapters in a book published by Springer entitled “Toxicology of Nanoparticles: Insights from Drosophila”. Additionally, she frequently writes chapters in the books related to neurodegenerative diseases. In addition to her dedication towards research, Dr. Agrawal has almost 15 years of experience in teaching Genetics, Cytogenetics and Developmental Biology to post-graduate students at the Department of Zoology, University of Delhi, India.
