Biographical note

Kate Adams is a writer, teacher, and presenter. She is an author with Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, and National Geographic Learning. Her writing focuses on her classroom experience teaching language arts at the middle school level and English as a second language for beginning to advanced learners. She was an instructor in the English Language Program at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Illinois Tutorium in Intensive English. Since 2017, she has been designated by the US State Department as an English Language Specialist. In 2018, she received the Illinois Spotlight on Service Award from the Illinois Secretary of State for her volunteer literacy work helping those most in need advance in English learning. Sarah Worthington is a writer and learning specialist with a background in English language learning as well as learning and thinking differences. She holds a Master of Arts in TESOL and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Cognitive Diversity in Education. Sarah taught as an ESL/EFL and grade level teacher in the Czech Republic, Germany, and the United States. She served as an English language specialist for the US State Department and directed English language teacher training programs for DC Public Schools. She is also an author of National Geographic Learning’s Lift Series.
