Biographical note

Achmad Firdaus is an Associate professor of Islamic Economics and Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at Institut Agama Islam (IAI) Tazkia, Indonesia. He earned his PhD in Islamic economics from Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN), Jakarta (2013), Master of Science in Management from the Graduate School of Faculty of Economics and Business – Universitas Indonesia (2004), and Bachelor of Physics from Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences – Universitas Indonesia (1993). He joined IAI Tazkia since 2012 and has held academic positions such as Head of the Master’s Program and Director of Postgraduate. He has worked at PT. SANYO Jaya Components Indonesia (1993–2003) (manufacture), PT. Asuransi Takaful Keluarga (2005–2009) (insurance) and also a consultant in management (2004–2015). His primary research interests are but not limited to Islamic wealth management, Islamic performance management, Islamic strategic management, Islamic marketing, and Islamic finance/banking/insurance.

Khaliq Ahmad is currently Professor at International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC) who previously served International Islamic University (IIUM) for 27 years and joined as Research Professor at Putra Business School after serving as a full Professor at Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. Dr Ahmad, who graduated from AMU Aligarh by obtaining his doctorate, MPhil, and master’s degrees, worked in the private sector for five years. He was the Dean, Kulliyah (Faculty) Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS) during the years 2008–2013. As founding President – ICIFE (www.icife.net) and former Dean, Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (2015–2016), he steered IIUM to be ranked world No. 1 in 2015 and 2016 by QS Ranking in Islamic Finance research and publication citation index. His academic interest is but not limited to Corporate Governance, Leadership, Strategic & Islamic Management, Islamic Social Finance, and Islamic Marketing.
