<p>There is much valuable material here to stimulate thought,...</p>

- David MacKay, The Covenanter Witness (Professor of Systematic Theology, Ethics and Apologetics, Reformed Theological College, Belfast, Northern Ireland),

<p>‘Many Christians have forsaken social activism, since history seems at first glance to be moving against us. John Barber's book does precisely what is needed. He advocates a clear program for Christian cultural activism, based on the biblical program of the Kingdom of God. He shows that we need to emphasize both the Cultural Mandate (filling and subduing the earth) and the Great Commission (making and teaching disciples of Jesus). And he shows that although we sometimes endure defeat, God's plan cannot fail.' </p>

- John Frame, Professor of Systematic Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary (Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy, Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando, Florida),

<p>...a very good book that provides some substantial thinking on how Christians can more effectively engage with their world...based in good biblical and theological thinking that can have an impact on the way we pray, evangelise and take part in social action.</p>

<p>Full of Scriptural references and insights, as well as personal illustrations, Earth Restored is grounded in Biblical precepts and centered on the gospel...for believers concerned for a Biblical view of Christians and culture, it's essential reading.<br /></p>

- American Family Assoc. Website,

<p>‘Earth Restored is not only refreshingly free of the rancor we've come to associate with the partisan screeds in the contemporary culture wars, it is also remarkably forthright in addressing the most plaguing problems of our day with insight, principle, and grace.'</p>

- George Grant, author, director of the King's Meadow Study Center (Senior Pastor, Parish Presbyterian Church, Franklin, Tennessee),

<p>‘If ever a book had the potential to revolutionize your view of the Christian's role in the world, this is it.' </p>

- Bill Bright, Campus Crusade for Christ,

<p>‘Here is a book which ties together the two great commands of God: the Cultural Mandate and the Great Commission. A practical guidebook for Christians of all persuasions.' </p>

- D. James Kennedy, Pastor, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Florida ((1930-2007) Late Pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Lauderdale, Florida),

There is a lot of debate about whether or not Christians should be involved in politics or culture for the purpose of reforming them. Should we concentrate on evangelism and reaching the unregenerate souls? Or should we try to reform every institution to conform to God’s standard? What John Barber’s book does is show us that it is not an “either/or” situation. The two elements work together. Reforming culture helps us to evangelize. And evangelizing helps us to reform culture. Interwoven in both endeavors is God’s sovereignty and the fact that God is working all things to His glory. Earth Restored is not another book on why America is great because the godly Founding Fathers wanted it that way, so we should strive to bring the country back to its former state. This book is about what the Bible says we as Christians should do in, for, and through the culture around us. It also gives a detailed look at the components of a biblical worldview, very important in having a godly perspective.
