Biographical note
Michael Kennedy has lived in Kings Norton since 1983. He has an MA in Modern History from Oxford University. Now retired, he had a career in press and public relations and organisational communications, and in doing so developed wide ranging and versatile skills in most kinds of written and spoken communication. As PR material for significant organisations, much of his work has been published nationally.
On the face of it, apart from its celebrated collection of medieval buildings, Kings Norton isn't much different from other Birmingham suburbs. But in writing articles about its history – and the people, the places and the stories that the area has generated – the author has found an extraordinary range of fascinating anecdotes that has made him realise that it is in fact very special.
