Borderline experience is one of the basic categories that characterize life and work between death and dying. Even though much of what had been lost in life knowledge could be brought back into the horizon of life experience through the hospice movement, it shows that new facets of dying and accompanying people are becoming visible. Such new areas are addressed in the articles in this volume. New challenges for pastors, palliative care physicians, hospice doctors, nurses, supervisors and, not least, ethicists are becoming apparent.
