HENRIK IBSEN (1828-1906) and EDVARD MUNCH (1863-1944) were two of the greatest artists to ever come from Norway.
They were never close friends, but Munch was a big admirer of Ibsen. 'When I read Ibsen, I read about myself,' Munch claimed several times. For his part, Ibsen highly respected the young painter who had created a number of motifs inspired by his writings.
In this richly illustrated volume, the reader is thoroughly introduced to the two artists who have left such a lasting impression on global art. Ibsen with works like A Doll's House, Peer Gynt and An enemy of the People, and Munch by giving us such expressionistic masterpieces as The Scream and Madonna.
