Biographical note

Caroline S. Hau is professor at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University. She is the author of several books, including Elites and Ilustrados in Philippine Culture (Ateneo Press, 2018), and Necessary Fictions: Philippine Literature and the Nation, 1946-1980 (Ateneo Press, 2000).
