Biographical note

Amy Rainbow (Author)
Amy Rainbow is a qualified teacher who has worked in mainstream and special schools, teaching and supporting learners of all ages and abilities in a wide range of subjects. She has worked in Pupil Referral Units, taught literacy skills to adults, been a youth worker, a family support worker and an independent listener, and has run projects to raise confidence and self-esteem in teenagers.


Amy has a degree in philosophy from The University of Nottingham, and gained her Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Sheffield with a term spent studying at the University of Perpignan. She has a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia / Specific Learning Difficulties and is an Associate of the Dyslexia Guild.


Amy now works at a university, giving students individual support with their academic studies. She is also a published poet and novelist, and spends her summers at festivals helping out with circus skills workshops!
