Biographical note

Sean McCormack (BSc (Hons), MVB, MRCVS) is a nature and animal lover, a self confessed foodie and Head Vet at tails.com. Having a passion for healthy and tasty nutrition for pets and people, Sean grows his own food and keeps chickens on his allotment. He loves cooking for friends and family, and now pets too with the release of The Happy Dog Cookbook. Originally from Co. Kilkenny and growing up in Co. Kildare, Sean spent his childhood out exploring in nature with his family terriers Sheba and Suki. He was obsessed with wildlife and animals as a child, and knew that he wanted to be a vet (or maybe a zookeeper!) from a very young age. After his degree in Animal Science, which had a focus on animal behaviour, conservation, nutrition and welfare, Sean went on to study Veterinary Medicine in Dublin, with an extra module in canine behaviour. He then spent the next six years working in various domestic and exotic pet practices, which brought him to London. It was whilst working in practice that he first heard of tails.com, and he was really excited by the prospect of individually tailored diets; something that wasn’t currently on the market but could be of huge benefit to not only dogs and their owners, but to vets too. So in 2016, Sean said goodbye to working in clinic, and brought his passion for nutrition, animal behaviour and welfare to the tails.com team as Head Vet, based in their Richmond HQ. In his spare time Sean kayaks, hikes and camps, grows fresh organic produce on his allotment and runs Ealing Wildlife Group, a wildlife conservation community group in West London.
