Biographical note
LUCY ROWLAND grew up in Cheltenham and now works as a children's speech and language therapist in London. She has a great passion for travel and her many trips include backpacking around South and Central America, Indonesia, Asia and Southern Africa. The Birthday Invitation is Lucy’s second book for Bloomsbury. Her first, Gecko's Echo, was published in February 2016. LAURA HUGHES is an exciting young illustrator based in Hastings. Originally from Bath, she studied illustration at Kingston University and, since graduating, she has created artwork for children's books, cards, stationery and homewares. The Birthday Invitation is Laura's second book with Bloomsbury; her first was the bestselling We're Going on an Egg Hunt.Packed with beautiful illustrations, this wonderful book teaches them about the joys of connecting with new friends … A brilliant, fun picture book all about friendship and embracing new experiences
