Hans Nielsen Hauge 1771-1824 is well known as a prominent historical revivalist and lay preacher in Norway. Like many other Puritan minded leaders from different countries, he was a pioneer and a strong motivator in many fields of entrepreneurship: Religious, industrial, social, political, and educational. Several scholars consider him to be one of the most important historical personalities in the formation of a modern Norwegian society. This book is written by faculty associated with the Hauge School of Management at the NLA University College. It provides research into how Haugean motivation historically influenced entrepreneurship, management, education, economics, policy, and development until our time, 250 years after his birth.
