Biographical note
Judi Curtin is the best-selling author of the ‘Alice and Megan’ series, the 'Eva' series and the 'Time After Time' series, about Beth and Molly, time-travelling best friends. Judi won the Children's Book of the Year (Senior) at the Irish Book Awards in 2017 for Stand By Me. Her 'Lily' series is set in Lissadell House, Sligo in the early twentieth century, while the 'Sally' series is set among the Irish emigrant community in New York of the same era. Sally in the City of Dreams was shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book Awards 2023 Woody Fox has been a children’s illustrator for 30 years specialising in all things animal related and anything funny. He’s worked for most of the major publishers in Britain as well as many abroad and also had successful cards ranges and clothes designs. He also has been a willow sculptor for the last 12 years, again specialising in animals which are his passion: you can see his scuptures at www.woodyfoxwillow.co.uk. He lives in Devon, England with his partner and two black cats surrounded by trees and wonderful wildlife.<p>comic excitement ... <p>Where this book succeeds so well is in showing the repercussions that decisions made by adults have on children and the ways in which, accordingly, they must live through these. A happy-ever-after scenario is not presented at the end of the novel, but then this would not be feasible either for Megan or for Alice. At once perceptive and humorous, this novel will doubtless strike a chord with many young readers.</p>
