'This book is a state-of-the-art guide for the clinician conducting cognitive-behavioral therapy. The great value of the cognitive-behavioral approach is that it is strongly grounded in empirical studies of processes and the effectiveness of treatment. This book reflects the scientist-practitioner model of this approach. Each chapter is written by a leading authority in the field. I found it especially helpful that each author provided a strong theoretical and clinical formulation that then guided treatment recommendations. The reader will find this book to be an excellent and up-to-date integration of the best in theory, research and clinical practice.' - Robert L. Leahy, President-Elect, International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy and Editor, Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy: An International Quarterly

'This book captures the essence of good Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, which is the skilful blending of guiding theory, focused techniques and clinical flexibility. The clarity and relevance of this book make it "must have" for those who wish to be effective cognitive behaviour therapists.' - Paul Salkovskis, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Applied Science, Institute of Psychiatry, London
